McAllen New Animal Ordinance

In light of recent animal hoarding cases and public health concerns, the City is considering a new ordinance to cap the number of cats and dogs per residence.

Proposed Ordinance Highlights:

Maximum of 4 adult cats/dogs or combination per residence.
Excess Animal Permit required for more than 4 adults or more than one litter at a time.
Permit issued based on criteria like space, food, shelter, noise, and vaccinations.
Permits last for one year, with a fee to cover administrative costs.
