Residents of Brownsville, Texas, will finally have an independent bookstore to call their own in 2023, as Búho announces plans to open in the historic Calderoni Building on Washington Street. The 101-year-old building, which has been beautifully renovated by Enrique Solórzano, will serve as the perfect home for the full-service bookstore that the community deserves.

In the meantime, Búho will continue to hold pop-up events, with some of them taking place inside the Calderoni Building so that customers can watch the progress being made. The store still has much work to do, including acquiring bookshelves and decor and building the right team to staff the store.

Búho's founder expressed gratitude for the support the store has received so far and emphasized the hard work and dedication that will be required to make the store a success. "2023 will be a year of hard work and new lessons, but we WILL continue our pop-up events," they said. "There's lots to look forward to - everything is slowly falling into place!"

With the opening of Búho, Brownsville residents can look forward to having a vibrant, community-focused bookstore in their town.
